Wound Care Services
USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Wound Care Services is an outpatient facility specializing in the healing of chronic, non-healing wounds. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses is specially trained in wound management.
Thanks to our personalized approach to care and advanced wound care technologies, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, most of our wound care patients are completely healed in just a few months. Our wound care team will design a treatment program that is based on your special needs. Treatment may include debridement, revascularization, growth factor therapy, skin grafting and comprehensive therapy.
What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a medical treatment that is given in a comfortable, climate-controlled, see-through chamber. It is an effective adjunctive therapy used in conjunction with advanced wound care. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy works throughout your entire body as the increased level of oxygen enters the blood and body tissues.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is often necessary for optimal treatment of chronic non-healing wounds and is a proven treatment for:
- Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
- Lower extremity diabetic ulcers
- Radiation cystitis
- Radiation necrosis
- Failed skin grafts
