Weight Loss Surgery

The Bariatric Program at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital helps you achieve long-term weight loss, with highly personalized care and support every step of the way.

If you’re 100 pounds overweight or 75 pounds overweight with a serious medical condition (such as uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension), our team will determine the best course of action to help you overcome obesity and start on your path to better long-term health. We deliver the compassionate care of a community hospital with the expertise of an academic health system, and accept all major insurance plans.

The Latest Surgical Advances

We will determine the least-invasive option for your unique situation, choosing from weight loss surgery options that include laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic gastric bypass and the laparoscopic band (Lap Band®). We also offer laparoscopic and open revisions of weight loss surgeries, including revision of Lap Band.

Collaborative Team Approach

Our multidisciplinary team includes leading surgeons, endocrinologists, dietitians, nurses and social workers, including two USC Verdugo Hills Hospital physicians recognized as 2016 Pasadena Magazine Top Doctors for their excellence in Bariatric Surgery.

Post-Surgical Care

Long-term success requires continual follow up and support. For each patient, we customize a plan that can include post-operative visits and calls, laboratory testing and monitoring, nutrition and exercise guidance, behavior modification exercises and support group meetings.
